The pitch
What is Sudden Death Golf?
Minigolf is a polite game. Sudden Death Golf is what happens when you give twelve people power-ups and remove the politeness.
Everyone shares the same course. Balls collide with each other, so a well-placed shot isn’t just about the hole - it’s about where everyone else’s ball happens to be sitting. Power-ups let you shove rivals off the green, drop a gravity well into the middle of a fairway, or change a ball’s size until the physics stop cooperating.
Then there’s the optional Beer power-up: it wobbles your screen, ruins your aim, and fairly strongly suggests you take a drink in real life. It can be switched off. Most groups do not switch it off.
It plays on a couch with friends shouting at each other, and it plays online with friends shouting at each other from further away.
- Up to 12 players, local and online.
- Ball-to-ball collisions - the course is shared, and so is the blame.
- Power-ups that push, warp gravity, and resize balls mid-run.
- Optional Beer mode for groups who want their aim actively sabotaged.
